Running Up That Hill
Amazes me all the time that we live on this tiny blue planet, the only home we know, among endless worlds and possibilities. Yet we still have ways to go here on Earth to get to the level of universal empathy, compassion, kindness, and understanding. We are so behind the times.
If we don’t unite, coexist past our differences, and embrace our humanity we are dooming ourselves to the fall of our being – the very things that spark and fuel our hearts and our lives.
The stars give me hope as they’ve always done for as long as I can remember, always dreaming of a Star Trek kind of future. I choose not to be pessimistic or cynical because I believe there is more goodness in the world than there is bad.
We are still here, still existing. In other words, it is not too late for us. Can we still save our world? Can we unite our humanity? Can we venture to the stars and beyond? I believe we can do all these things and more. I believe we can run up that hill together and make a deal with humanity, with each other, that we can and will become better people.
